Former Lebanese president Emile Lahoud has described the resistance as the only solution to what he called the occupation's repeated attacks. He made the remarks in a condolence letter addressed to the families of martyrs from the south of the country. Lahoud, who led Lebanon from 1998 to 2007, has long defended keeping arms in the hands of the resistance.
