Requests for information from Chilean public bodies are climbing, along with complaints when agencies refuse to answer. Citizens filed 167,185 requests during the first half of 2026. In the same period, there were 8,620 complaints filed over information being denied. The figures show growing friction between citizens and the state over access to public records.
