According to a breaking news report, authorities in Denizli have detained five individuals on suspicion of wrongdoing. The investigation targets the Merkezefendi municipality and examines allegations of bribery, abuse of power and bid rigging. Among those arrested are the mayor of Merkezefendi, Şeniz Doğan, and her husband, Mehmet Ali Doğan. Both the mayor and her spouse are listed as suspects in the probe. The other three detained persons are also linked to the same set of accusations. Police carried out the arrests as part of the ongoing inquiry. The case is being pursued under anti‑corruption statutes.
