Heavy rain expected over many areas in Singapore, flash flood alerts in Jurong West
Heavy rain is expected over many areas of Singapore on Thursday (Sept 10) morning.In a weather update issued at 7.55am, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said this is forecast to last till 9.30am.Separately, Singapore's national water agency PUB announced on its Telegram channel that risk of flash floods exist at Jalan Boon Lay — from International Road to Enterprise Road, and the junction of Pesawat Drive and Jurong Port Road. These locations are in Jurong West.Checks on Meteorological Service Singapore's (MSS) weather radar at 8.55am show rain clouds across the western part of Singapore.In its fortnightly weather forecast on Sept 1, the weatherman had said that localised short-duration thundery showers are expected over parts of the island in the late morning and afternoon on some days amid dry weather conditions.[[nid:744776]]editor@asiaone.com
