Sweden's ambassador to Pakistan, Alexandra Berg, met with Federal Minister Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh in Islamabad. The meeting was recorded in a brief dispatch that limited itself to naming the two officials and the city where they sat down. Berg leads Sweden's diplomatic mission in Pakistan, while Sheikh holds a portfolio in the federal cabinet. Sessions of this kind between visiting envoys and Pakistani ministers ordinarily cover bilateral relations, trade and areas of cooperation, although the report gave no hint of the agenda. No joint statement followed the item. Islamabad sees a steady stream of such calls as foreign diplomats work their way through meetings with cabinet members. As things stand, the only public trace of the encounter is the short note identifying who met whom and where.
