Singapore wakes up to improved air quality as 24-hour PSI returns to moderate

If you are wondering if the skyline from your window looks clearer today, you are not wrong.Air quality in Singapore improved overnight, with a 24-hour Pollutant Standard Index (PSI) reading of 87 recorded in the central region at 10am on Sunday (Sept 6) morning.Meanwhile, air quality in the four other regions has also maintained in the moderate range.The central region has recorded two consecutive days of air quality in the unhealthy range — 101 to 200 — since Friday.That prompted the National Environment Agency (NEA) to begin providing daily updates.In its forecast on Saturday evening, NEA noted that most parts of the surrounding region remained dry.Its satellite imaging also indicated that moderate to dense smoke plumes over the southern and central parts of Sumatra and various parts of Kalimantan are continuing to drift towards Singapore.
