A large fire broke out on Friday at the Orlí hnízdo mountain lodge above Berchtesgaden in Germany, the site better known to many as the Eagles' Nest. The building's wartime link to Adolf Hitler has drawn extra attention to the blaze from far beyond the region. Rescue work is difficult because the lodge sits high on a mountain, far from easy vehicle access. Firefighters have had to move equipment up steep slopes while local brigades joined the effort. The difficult terrain remains the biggest obstacle for the crews on site. According to the available information, nobody was injured in the fire. The initial reports do not say what sparked the flames or how far the damage extends. The operation is expected to keep crews busy for hours to come.

Velký požár propukl v pátek na horské chatě Orlí hnízdo nad německým Berchtesgadenem. Na místě zasahují hasiči, horský terén akci značně komplikuje. Podle dostupných informací nebyl nikdo zraněn.
