Scientists in Ecuador discovered a tiny poisonous frog. The animals of this species exhibit completely different colors. Some are red and black while others are green and yellow. Genetic research confirmed that they belong to the same species. The frog was given the name Excidobates perplexus.
Wetenschappers ontdekten in Ecuador een piepkleine giftige kikker. Het vreemde is dat dieren van dezelfde soort totaal verschillend gekleurd zijn. Sommige zijn rood met zwart, andere groen met geel. Genetisch onderzoek bevestigde dat ze toch bij dezelfde soort horen. De kikker kreeg de naam Excidobates perplexus.
