A 69‑year‑old woman lost her life after jumping into the water at Cavalleria beach on Menorca. She entered the sea when she saw a ten‑year‑old girl struggling against the waves. Her husband also entered the water to try to rescue them. He was injured during the attempt and later had to pull his wife's body ashore. The incident occurred on the last day of the family’s vacation. The tragic rescue ended with the grandmother’s drowning.
