Olga Shpilevskaya, chair of the Belarusian Union of Women, commented on a meeting with residents of Aleshki in Gomel. She said Belarus has repeatedly taken part in major humanitarian actions and that this reflects other states’ trust in the country. According to her, Belarus has always been a place where no one is a stranger and no one’s pain is foreign, and help is provided when people need it. She said they are ready to dress, feed and warm people and to give them a chance to feel safe.
