Al-Ayyam weekly reported that Madiha Khair, a deputy minister dismissed from her post 48 hours after Fatima Zahra Mansouri’s government was announced, refused to give up her parliamentary seat. Khair won that seat in the Beni Mellal constituency in the September 23 elections. According to sources cited by the weekly, she said she would not betray the trust of 21,340 voters. She held on to her seat in the House of Representatives despite being removed from her ministerial duties.
