The governor of Gezira State, Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair, welcomed a scientific conference held by Al-Butana University to discuss issues in the state. University directors, experts and specialists are taking part in the conference. The governor also issued an order banning the carrying of bladed weapons in public places. He said universities are a main foundation for the state government in making decisions and drawing policies based on scientific research and knowledge. He called for using academic and research expertise.
