International News: 11 missing after boat capsizes off Mexico, survivors suffer suspected shark bites

Eleven people remain missing after a boat carrying 27 passengers capsized in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Mexico early Friday. The U.S. Coast Guard received a distress call at around 1:00 a.m. reporting a vessel taking on water about 140 miles out at sea, and pushed a search-and-rescue operation into motion straight away. Rescue work is happening in a remote stretch of open ocean, far from the ports that would make such an operation easier. Those who were pulled from the water are being treated for wounds that responders suspect may be shark bites. The first reports did not say where the boat had set out from or who exactly was on board. No official account has been given yet for why the vessel started taking on water in the first place. The search is expected to carry on while conditions allow, since the passengers still missing are the part of this case without any answers.
