Farmers in Bhojpur are worried after a “lai worm” outbreak appeared in paddy crops as harvest time approaches. According to farmers, the pest damages the base of the rice plants, causing the plants to fall over, the ears to dry out and even the straw to be destroyed. The problem has struck as farmers prepare to bring in the rice harvest.
