Literature is not only a mirror of society but also a way of seeing it. Themes of Dalit life and caste discrimination have entered Nepali literature, but for a long time the Dalit community itself was denied the chance to narrate its own life.
साहित्य समाजको ऐना मात्र होइन, समाजलाई हेर्ने दृष्टि पनि हो। नेपाली साहित्यमा दलित जीवन र जातीय विभेदका विषयले प्रवेश पाए पनि लामो समयसम्म दलित समुदाय स्वयम् आफ्नो जीवनको कथाकार बन्ने अवसरबाट वञ्चित रह्यो।
