In comments linked to governor rule, Yousuf Raza Gilani said that those who sacrificed their lives for constitutional democracy do not do undemocratic things. He said he has stood with the Pakistan Peoples Party for 40 years, seen good and bad days, and never left the party. He argued that a stone is heavy in its place, while those who change parties three times lose their political value and are seen by the public and political parties as looters. He added that, thank God, no one in his family has become a looter.
