Another batch of 179 electric buses arrived at the port of Karachi after a voyage from China. The consignment had set out from a Chinese port and crossed the sea aboard the cargo ship MV Rui Ning 6. On arrival, the vehicles were allocated to Margalla Heavy Industries Limited, the assembly plant located in Taxila Cantonment. The delivery was reported by the NNI news agency, which filed the dispatch from Lahore. Each shipment of this kind adds to the growing number of battery powered buses imported for Pakistani transit projects. Authorities have not yet said when the new vehicles will enter passenger service.
