Massawa, 27 September 2019- The Chairman of the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students, Mr. Saleh Ahmedin conducted seminar on 26 September to youth workers in the port city of Massawa focusing on the implementation of charted out development programs. At the seminar Mr. Saleh gave extensive briefing on the profound national identity nurtured in the past 20 years compared to the neighboring countries as well as the responsibility of the youth in the new era of friendship and cooperation in the region. Indicating that one could not look to the future by forgetting the past, Mr. Saleh said that the strong Eritrean national identity was the result of the values nurtured in the trying times. Mr. Saleh went on to say that commendable activity had been conducted to transfer the noble values fostered during the armed struggle for independence to the young generation. Pointing out that the unity and nationalism promoted and the heavy sacrifice paid to bring independence and safeguarding the national sovereignty was the basis for existence as a country, Mr. Saleh called on the youth to live up to expectations and strengthen contribution. Mr. Saleh also called on the youth to take advantage of the new era and preserve the noble societal values. The participants on their part called for the sustainability of such seminars with a view to increase the understanding of the youth on the objective situation in the homeland and the region.
