Bishkek, May 23, 2019. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz government and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) signed two new agreements for a total amount of over EUR 13 million in Bishkek. Minister of Finance Baktygul Jeenbayeva and Head of EBRD Summa Chakrabarti signed the documents during the Forum “Clean Water for the Regions” These agreements are: -Agreement on rehabilitation of water supply systems in Myrza-Ake, Kurshab and Don-Bulak local governments (Osh Oblast); - Agreement on improvement of water supply system in Jalal-Abad town. Under the first Agreement a loan of EUR 2 million from the EBRD and a grant of EUR 3 million from the European Union are envisaged to support the primary improvements in the water supply of three villages of Osh Oblast: Myrza-Ake, Kurshab and Don-Bulak, where more than 80,000 people live. According to the second Agreement, the EBRD's financial package includes a loan of EUR 4 million and a grant of EUR 4.1 million to finance the second phase of the water project in Jalal-Abad.
