In a press statement released on Saturday, Somalia’s Auditor General said the agreement underscores the two institutions’ commitment to strengthening cooperation in financial oversight and public-sector auditing. The MoU aims to enhance audit quality, jointly develop mechanisms to combat corruption, and facilitate the exchange of expertise and modern auditing techniques in line with international standards. “This MoU represents an important milestone in reinforcing accountability and transparency in Somalia’s public sector while benefiting from regional and international best practices,” said a senior official from the Office of the Auditor General.
