Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh Dzhumabekov takes part in meeting of Milli Majlis dedicated to centenary of Azerbaijani Parliament
Bishkek, Sept. 22, 2018. /Kabar/. The parliamentary delegation led by Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) Dastanbek Dzhumabekov participated on Friday in the solemn meeting of the Milli Majlis on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani parliament.
The meeting was opened by Chairman of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Oktay Asadov, after which President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev delivered a solemn speech.
The first persons of Azerbaijan noted that the foundations of modern Azerbaijan were laid by the people 100 years ago, emphasizing that the Azerbaijani people were the first in the entire Muslim East to create a Democratic Republic with a strong parliament that gave the right to vote to women. At the same time, the special role of the national leader H. Aliyev in the formation and development of the Azerbaijani statehood was noted.
In his speech, Dzhumabekov, congratulating his colleagues on the anniversary and, noting the historical significance of the event not only for the Azerbaijani people, but also for the whole region, underscored the steadfastness and unity of spirit shown by the people of Azerbaijan in the pursuit of freedom and construction of a strong and independent state.
Speaking about the active participation of the Azerbaijani parliament in all reforms carried out by the state, the Speaker noted that Milli Majlis, thoroughly examining the experience of foreign countries in building a legal and democratic state, has constantly developed and improved itself.«
Noting the extended international activity of the Milli Majlis, Dzhumabekov expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the significant contribution to the development of the TurkPA and congratulated his colleagues on the 10th anniversary of this Parliamentary Assembly.
The Speaker also expressed the opinion that the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan are united not only by the common Turkic roots, cultural and religious factors and the historically established friendly relations, but also the thorny path to gaining freedom and independence, the foundation of statehood. »In its centuries-old history, the Kyrgyz people, like the Azerbaijani people, having passed through many severe trials, managed to preserve their statehood", he stressed.
Noting that the people of Kyrgyzstan, as a result of heroic efforts, relying on the wisdom and heritage of their ancestors, and also taking into account the experience of foreign countries, was able to create the first and strong parliamentary democracy in Central Asia, based on the principles of the rule of law, universal equality and social justice, he told that this year marks 80th anniversary of Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic. At the same time he drew the attention of those present on the fact that the Kyrgyz Parliament has become today the center of adopting of the most important political decisions and stabilization of the society, the main arena of political glasnost and public dialogue.
At the end of his speech, the Speaker expressed his firm belief that the experience of bilateral cooperation, accumulated over a quarter of a century, will serve to further develop and strengthen the fraternal Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani relations.
Congratulating, once again, on the anniversary, Dzhumabekov wished the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan successe in its responsible activity, and the Azerbaijani people - peace and further prosperity!
More than 40 parliamentary delegations took part in the event, of which 13 were represented at the level of the chairmen of the parliaments and 15 by the deputy chairmen, as well as representatives of 6 parliamentary organizations.
