La 34ème édition du marathon va'a de Polynésie la 1ère se déroule ce samedi 22 mars. Une centaine d'équipages de Tahiti et des îles ont rendez-vous au parc Vairai à partir de 6 heures. Au-delà du sport, cette compétition se veut aussi une fête populaire grâce aux animations culturelles proposées.
Les habitants du motu Terurumi à Bora Bora ont de nouveau de l'eau potable à leur portée. Depuis 2021, l'eau de la lentille d'eau douce était devenu impropre. Grâce à une initiative de deux mécènes américains et après 7 mois de travaux, 4 habitations sont désormais raccordées via une canalisation de 2,7 km de long.

Treize catégories étaient engagées, avec une distance de 46 kilomètres entre Tahiti et Moorea pour le plus long parcours. Air Tahiti remporte la première étape tandis qu'OPT domine la seconde étape.
