Bishkek, Oct. 16, 2018. /Kabar/. In Bishkek, on October 17, wheelchairs will be passed to the most needy adults and children with disabilities. A charity campaign was launched in the cooperation with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and the Red Crescent of Kyrgyzstan,, in which 100 people with disabilities in all areas of Kyrgyzstan from among the most vulnerable will be provided with wheelchairs. In addition to standard wheelchairs, 35 special children’s and teen’s wheelchairs will be handed over within the campaign to serve children with cerebral palsy, muscular atrophy and other neurological diseases. This campaign is part of the Toskolduksuz Zhashoo! (“Life without barriers!”) Campaign, initiated by two organizations, which also includes courses for women with disabilities in sewing, as well as training for the elderly with disabilities in computer technologies. The goal of the campaign is to provide persons with disabilities with new opportunities to fulfill themselves, gain new skills and knowledge that will contribute to social integration, strengthen the independence of PWDs, and also provide an opportunity to create a source of income.
