All Singaporeans will be able to claim $500 worth of Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers from Thursday (June 11).This ninth tranche of disbursements was launched on Thursday at Nanyang Community Club by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong.Also in attendance were the mayors and representatives of the five CDCs.As with earlier tranches, the amount is split equally — each household will receive $250 for spending at participating hawkers and heartland merchants, and $250 for spending at participating supermarkets.The full list of participating heartland merchants, hawkers, and supermarkets can be found at go.gov.sg/cdcvouchers.Singaporean households can visit go.gov.sg/cdcv and log in with their Singpass to claim their CDC Vouchers.After claiming the vouchers, the claimant will receive an SMS with a unique voucher link from gov.sg to his or her mobile phone number.The CDC vouchers will be valid until Dec 31, 2027.

With the arrival of the durian season, crowds have reportedly been drawn to Pulau Ubin by the prospect of free fruit — even though picking those fruits is illegal.Durian season typically occurs between June and September.When 8world reporters visited the island on Wednesday (June 10), they saw durians falling and spotted at least eight people — some were on bicycles looking while others waited under the trees — searching for wild durians in the span of two hours, reported 8world. At least four people reportedly returned to the jetty with large bags full of durians. Hong, a 72-year-old visitor, told 8world it was his second time at Pulau Ubin this week to collect durians, having taken the 7am ferry and arriving at around 8am. Woman arrested for stealing 2 bottles of facial products worth $736 from duty-free shop at Changi Airport

An Indonesian traveller allegedly filched two bottles of skincare products worth $736 from a duty free shop in the transit area of Changi Airport before heading for her flight. But the 40-year-old woman's suspicious behaviour captured the attention of a sharp-eyed security officer who was viewing closed-circuit television footage. After confirming items were indeed missing from the store, the officer made a police report. The alleged thief was arrested before her departure, with the stolen goods found on her. In a news release on Wednesday (June 10), the police said the theft took place on May 31 at The Shila Duty Free store in the transit area of Changi Airport Terminal 3. Officers from the Airport Police Division identified the suspect via ground enquiries and images from the CCTV cameras. «Preliminary investigations revealed that she had concealed the items and left the store without making payment.» A photograph of the stolen items provided by the police show two tubs of eye creams from La Mer, a luxury skincare brand.The woman will be charged in court on Thursday with theft.
