Bishkek, Sept. 22, 2018. /Kabar/. The mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Christian Josz arrived in Kyrgyzstan. The mission's visit will last until October 3, 2018, the press service of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. The purpose of the visit is to discuss the content and conditions of the new possible program supported by the IMF for Kyrgyzstan. During the visit, meetings will be held with representatives of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, and other organizations. On September 20 this year. Acting Chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan N. Jenish and the representatives of the IMF mission held a meeting, during which the sides discussed prospects for further cooperation. In 2015-2018 the cooperation of Kyrgyzstan with the IMF was carried out within the framework of the agreement on a three-year economic program - the Enhanced Credit Facility (ECF). The goal of the program was to achieve stability of the budget and debt situation, ensure stability in the financial sector and carry out structural reforms to increase the potential for economic growth. Within the framework of the ECF program, the Kyrgyz Republic received credit resources to support the state budget of the country. On April 8, 2018, the ECF program was completed. Read more
