Por cinco horas, la exministra de la Corte Suprema Ángela Vivanco declaró este miércoles ante Fiscalía en las dependencias del OS9 de Carabineros en Providencia, en el marco de la investigación por la denominada «trama bielorrusa». Vivanco está imputada por la presunta recepción de coimas a cambio de fallos judiciales por parte del consorcio Belaz Movitec, y tras pasar más de 130 días en prisión preventiva, quedó bajo arresto domiciliario el 12 de junio. La abogada defensora Patricia Alvarado detalló que «esta es una diligencia que pedimos nosotros, la señora Vivanco siempre ha estado dispuesta a colaborar, ella siempre ha querido entregar su versión de los hechos y es por eso que nosotros fuimos los que solicitamos al Ministerio Público que fuese ella la que pudiera prestar declaración y entregar los antecedentes que ella tiene respecto de los hechos que se le imputan». Además, la letrada remarcó que «estamos peleando para que se mantenga la fecha de cierre de investigación que se dio inicialmente, que es el 13 de agosto. El tribunal todavía no resuelve al respecto, pero instamos a que se termine y se prosiga» con la preparación del juicio oral. Al llegar al recinto, Vivanco manifestó «tengo conocimiento de la causa, ya varias veces he dado declaraciones ante la prensa, así que tranquila y preparada para responder todo aquello que se me pregunte». La exministra volverá a prestar declaraciones en el OS7 de Carabineros este jueves desde las 9:00 de la mañana.  Por otro lado, el próximo 22 de septiembre se formalizará en esta misma causa al exdiputado y abogado Gabriel Silber, además de reformalizar a otros imputados, incluyendo a Vivanco, por diversos delitos. SINGAPORE — A woman who posted negative reviews on the Google page of a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clinic must pay $12,500 in damages for defaming the physician who treated her.The customer, Cheryl Lim, had experienced weakness in her arm after she underwent acupuncture treatment at the Kin Teck Tong TCM Clinic at Plaza Singapura.In the first review she posted, she cautioned readers to “think twice” and questioned if the physician, Pheabe Chau, was qualified.After the clinic declined her request for a refund, Lim updated her review, this time stating that going to the clinic for treatment caused her to lose her arm strength.In a written judgment on Aug 4, District Judge Sim Mei Ling said both reviews were defamatory.The judge rejected Lim’s argument that they were justified, saying she had not sought to prove the truth of her statements.However, the judge concluded the first review expressed an honest opinion and amounted to fair comment, which is a defence to a defamation claim.But the second review was a definitive statement of fact.
