Dry weather conditions, along with warm and humid nights, are expected to continue in the first fortnight of September, the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said on Tuesday (Sept 1). During this period, daily maximum temperatures are likely to range between 33 and 35 deg C on most days, and could even exceed 35 deg C on a few days, the weatherman said.There may not be much reprieve at night, with conditions forecast to be «warm and humid».Minimum temperatures are expected to stay above 27 deg C on most nights, the agency added.But localised short-duration thundery showers are also expected over parts of the island in the late morning and afternoon on some days.«Fair and occasionally windy conditions are expected on most days, especially during the first week of September,» MSS said.Singapore may experience hazy conditionsTurning to dry conditions in the region, MSS said it has observed an escalation in the hotspot and smoke haze situation.It noted that dense smoke haze was observed over southern and central Sumatra and various parts of Kalimantan on most days since around Aug 21.
