Chairman of the State Service of Intellectual Property and Innovations under the Kyrgyz Government (Kyrgyzpatent) Dosali Esenaliev met with Director General of the Estonian Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Center (EIPTTC) Marius Kuningas and key political expert Christian Gessl. The press service of Kyrgyzpatent reports that, during the meeting the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular, cooperation related to the creation of technology parks. Chairman of Kyrgyzpatent Dosali Esenaliev spoke about measures and actions aimed at the development of innovations, in particular, about the competition for the creation of technology parks held in higher educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan. He said that according to this project, in university technoparks residents will be able to produce competitive products based on innovative developments of scientific and educational institutions. Gessl shared the experience of finding donor funds, told about international companies, whose activities are aimed at supporting such projects. He also noted that the projects should be market-oriented. Director of EIPTTC Kuningas spoke about the important role of the location of the technopark, which should be acceptable for its further implementation. Mr. Kuningas said that a delegation from the Tartu Technopark will arrive in Kyrgyzstan in May to participate in the discussion of the round table on the commercialization of intellectual property in universities, taking into account the activities of Estonian technology parks. The sides confirmed joint efforts to achieve specific goals in the establishment of technology parks, which in the future will serve to significantly improve innovation in Kyrgyzstan. Experts plan a series of meetings with donors and government agencies on providing support for the establishment of technoparks in Kyrgyzstan. Read more
