Workers were being sacrificed at the altar of competitiveness, with companies seeking to one-up each other to the detriment of their employees, Opposition leader Adrian Delia said. Speaking at a conference on the Future of Work, Dr Delia said the country needed to prepare for changes in employment. He warned workplaces could soon come to an end, as more people choose to work from home. There will no longer be the physical environment at work that people were accustomed to, the Opposition leader said. This had some advantages since it would lead to less traffic and less emissions, Dr Delia said. However, the Opposition leader warned, it was important to think about the decline in human interaction. Dr Delia reiterated his calls for the government to prepare for foreigners, saying climate change was bringing about migration from some countries.
