KAIST가 앞으로 모든 교과목에 인공지능(AI) 활용 가능 등급을 표시한다. 신입생에게는 입학 직후부터 창업교육을 실시한다. 배충식 KAIST 신임 총장은 24일 서울 종로구의 한 식당에서 취임 기자간담회를 열고 이 같은 내용의 대학 혁신 구상을 밝혔다. KAIST는 내년 3월부터 모든 교과목을 AI 활용 정도에 따라 △자립 △확장 △주도 등 세 등급으로 나눌 계획이다. 인문·기초과학 등 ‘자립’ 수업에선 AI를 최대한 쓰지 않고 스스로 사고하며 기초역량을 기르고, 확장 수업에선 AI를 활용해 학습의 폭과 깊이를 넓힌다. 공학 등의 ‘주도’ 수업은 AI를 직접 설계하고 주도적으로 활용한다. 배 총장은 “AI 시대일수록 인간 고유의 사고력이 중요하다”며 “기본 위에 AI 역량을 더해 모든 학생이 AI를 주도적으로 활용하도록 할 것”이라고 말했다.입학과 동시에 창업 교육도 시작한다. 신입생들은 기술창업 사례를 배우고 현장 기업가들을 만나 아이디어를 사업으로 발전시키는 과정을 경험한다.
