조희대 대법원장이 13일 박영재 대법관(57·사법연수원 22기)을 신임 법원행정처장으로 임명했다. 부임 일자는 16일이다. 2024년 1월부터 법원행정처를 이끌던 천대엽 처장(62·21기)은 16일부터 대법관으로서 재판 업무를 다시 맡게 된다. 부산 출신인 박 신임 처장은 서울대 법대를 졸업하고 사법시험에 합격한 뒤 1996년 서울지법 동부지원 판사를 시작으로 30여년 간 서울고법 부장판사, 부산고법 부장판사, 서울중앙지법 부장판사 등 주요 각급 법원에서 재판 업무를 담당해왔다. 특히 법원행정처 차장과 기획조정실장, 기획총괄심의관, 인사담당관 등을 맡으면서 법원 내에선 사법행정에 능통하다는 평가를 받는다. 법원행정처장은 전국 법원의 인사와 에산 등 사법행정을 총괄하는 자리다. 또 대법관 후보추천위원회와 고위공직자범죄수사처장 후보추천위 등에도 당연직 위원으로 참여한다. 현직 대법관이 법원행정처장을 맡으며, 재임 기간 동안에는 대법원 재판을 맡지는 않는다. 대법원은 “박 신임 처
